THE STORY--AS PROMISED!

We are so excited to have our little boy here! I'll give a quick version of his arrival story, cuz I know most people really want to just see the pictures! My water broke Tuesday morning at about 4:45 am and contractions started soon after. They were about 5 minutes apart and my midwives had told me they wanted me to have them 5 minutes apart for a few hours before coming to the hospital, so we expected to spend several hours at home. We finished packing our suitcase, showered, and were taking our time getting ready to go, but within an hour my contractions were 3 mins apart, so we decided to head to the hospital! It is about a 30 min drive to the hospital and by the time we got there, they were less than 2 min apart and really strong! They got me in a room right away and I was already 7 cm, so they were rushing to get me settled in a delivery room. About an hour later I was 10 cm and ready to go! I did have an epidural when I was about 9 cm and was so glad I did becuase the rest of the process did not go so fast! I pushed for almost 4 hours before our sweet little boy finally made his way ino the world! He was posterior (face up) and had a really hard time making his way through the birth canal. Long story, but my midwife ended up calling in the doctor on call (midwives can't do any surgical procedures) and we had to have a forceps delivery. It was still so hard to deliver him, and the doctor finally said we had one more try before moving on to a C-section. Thankfully, he decided to come on that last try and was born at 1:05 pm to a very exhausted mommy and daddy! We are so grateful he is healthy, not to mention adorable. We are absolutely in love with him! For once in our lives, we remembered the camera at a special event and took tons of pictures! I'm posting a bunch here, but be sure to check back as I'm sure this blog will now focus a lot on our little man!

With Daddy

Ready to come home

Kyson has jaundice and is on the light bed at home, which he hates! Its so hard to watch him scream and cry and not be able to hold him!

Every new mom's favorite picture!

This little guy loves his hands!

My girlfriend had her baby the same day. She also had to put her little one under the blue lights because of jaundice. I am glad to hear everything is well.

I promise you will love that he sucks his fingers. Hopefully he can learn to calm himself with that. He is so beautiful!

Annie! I am THRILLED for you and thankful you have let me know! I am truly sorry to hear about the labor process. I believe that God gives moms the power to forget PAIN quickly, especially when you get to look into that BEAUTIFUL baby's face. What a cutie! You look great as well! Anna had jaundice as well, I hope the bed goes away quickly! Much love and congrats! Enjoy every moment... it is hard not to!!

Congrats Annie! He's so cute! Easton had jaundice too but the silly guy LOVED the lights. I think he just liked hanging out practically naked all day... :) Good luck with your new little one! They are fun.
